This Friday sees the next round of the Junior Jam at Knox Academy. Please arrive for 17:50 for a 18:00 warm up, we should finish at 20:00. Please remember lots of water and £2 for the referees.

First Junior Jam sees North Berwick success!

The first Junior Jam of the season saw both North Berwick teams remain undefeated in all their games. Thanks to all the parents who came along to watch, the players certainly seemed to enjoy themselves! Click on the photos below.

First Junior Jam games of the season

This Friday (28th September) sees the first games of the Junior Jam League. The games will be played at Knox Academy in Haddington and will run from 6pm until 8pm. Each player should bring £1 per game as a donation to help cover the referee costs, each team normally has 2 games at each session. Please make sure you bring lots of water. New season nearly here!

After a fantastic summer of sport, we hope you are all raring to go with your basketball. The primary 6s and 7s will start this Thursday on the 23rd August and the primary 5s will start the following week on the 30th. If you are not intending to return to the Club please let us know so we can allocate your place to someone on the waiting list. This year we will once again be entering a Primary 6 team and a Primary 7 team in the Junior Jam league. The matches will be held at Knox Academy this year and the dates are on this website under the Fixtures section.

Enjoy your summer holidays

Well that's it then for another season. We wish good luck to all our Primary 7s at High School and hope they have enjoyed their few weeks of High School basketball sessions and that they continue with their basketball next year. Could this be the year the High School win the Scottish Cup? We have just finished the Primary 4 taster sessions and look forward to welcoming them into the Club in the Primary 5 sessions next year. Also this year for this first time we have run some girls only sessions to encourage more girls to take up the game and we hope many of the girls from these sessions will join the Club next season. So keep up with your basketball over the summer, whether its going to one of the Summer Camps or just playing in the garden! There will be lots of basketball to watch over the summer with the Olympics this year, also watch out for former Club members Gregor Gray and Ali Mackay. Gregor is playing in two European Championships over the summer, one with the Scotland Under 16 team and one with the Scotland Under 18 team. Ali is playing for Scotland Senior Men in the Small Nations Championships in San Marino. Watch out for news of how they get on via the basketballscotland website. Have a great summer!

Stevie Duff

It is much sadness that we heard yesterday about the sad passing of Stevie Duff. Without a doubt there would be no North Berwick Basketball Club without Stevie's support when he was the East Lothian Basketball Development Officer. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
