Last Junior Jam of 2013

Friday 13th December is the last Junior Jam of 2013 and sees the first game between our two teams. Both teams are tied at the top of the league unbeaten as yet so one team will emerge as the clear leader going into the New Year. The fixtures for Friday are :

• 6:15 NB 1 v NB 2 and Gullane v Haddington
• 6:40 NB 2 v Haddington and Gullane v NB 1
• 7:05 NB 1 v Haddington and NB2 v Gullane

As usual the games are at Knox Academy, please arrive at 5:50pm to get changed in time for the warm up at 6pm. Don't forget plenty of drinks and £1 per game to help pay the referees.

Each plays at least 2 games against other Clubs in East Lothian. We have a Primary 6 team (North Berwick 2)and a Primary 7 team (North Berwick 1). Each team pays £1 / game to cover the referee costs, strips are supplied by us.

End of season awards and Junior Jam champions

Pictured above are our award winners for the season 2012-13. As ever Marie and her coaches had some tough choices to make as we have so many players who have performed well this year. The winners' were :

The season culminated in a very close and exciting playoff for Junior Jam champions between NB1 and NB2. After a nail biting game, NB1 emerged as victors and were crowned Junior Jam champions. A fabulous achievement for the Club to provide both finalists and a tribute to the strength of basketball in North Berwick. Some photos from the game can be seen above.

Well done to everyone this season and good luck to the Primary 7s at High School. See you back at the Club on Thursday 29th August.

Junior Jam Play Offs

Friday 14th June sees the culmination of the Junior Jam season as the games as played to settle who will take 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. The good news is that North Berwick are guaranteed a first and second place as the playoff is between North Berwick 1 and North Berwick 2. The even better news is that it is in North Berwick Sports Centre! The full programme of events is :

• 19:00 - 19:15 Warm ups
• 19:15 - 19:45 Musselburgh/Tranent v Haddington (3rd and 4th place)
• 19:50 - 20:20 North Berwick 1 v North Berwick 2 (1st and 2nd place)
• 20:25 - 20:35 Presentations
• 20:35 - 21:00 Development Squads v Coaches game

The last Junior Jam of the season is at Knox Academy this Friday. The current standings in the Junior Jam are North Berwick 1 in first place and North Berwick 2 in 3rd place. Please aim to arrive at 5.45pm and bring along plenty to drink (water only please) and £2 to cover the referee costs. First basketball sessions of 2013

A Happy New Year to all Club members and welcome back to basketball! The first sessions of 2013 are today (17th January) but we immediately have an enforced break the following week as the Blood Donor Service is in the hall, so the next session after today will be the 31st. The first Junior Jam of the year is on Friday 25th January, everyone will have a received an email by now about this so don't forget to let Marie know if you are available. Remember all the session dates can be found on this website in the "When do we train" section.
